Can lithium batteries run a 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner?

Yes, for a few hours, with a large bank and an inverter its BMS can feed. A 13,500 BTU RV AC is listed at 1500–2000 W running maker spec; through a 93%-efficient inverter that is about 1,895 Wh from the battery per hour of compressor running calculated. Data updated .

Battery energy per hour of cooling

Low end of the range 1,626 Wh, high end 2,164 Wh, including the Victron Energy MultiPlus-II 12/3000/120-50's idle draw calculated. Starting watts are listed at 3150 W maker spec; check that against your inverter's surge rating in its manual. A compressor cycles, so real use per hour is often lower; its duty cycle isn't published, so we count every hour at running watts.

Four hours, worked through

2 × Epoch 12V 300Ah Heated Bluetooth Group 31 gives 6,144 Wh usable at a 20% reserve; four hours use 7,579 Wh, so it lasts 3.2 hours of use with no charging calculated. Full working: the RV AC scenario.

Smallest banks we list that cover four hours and pass every check with the same inverter:

The inverter limit

The inverter's full-load draw has to stay within the bank's BMS continuous rating: inverter vs BMS current. Try other banks in the planner.
