Check

Charging lithium in the cold

Only above the battery maker's minimum charging temperature, unless the battery has a built-in heater that warms it first. 11 of the 12 batteries we list publish a minimum charging temperature, and 5 have a heater maker spec. Data updated .

How the check works

The planner compares the coldest temperature you expect with the maker's minimum charging temperature. At or above it: works. Below it with a heater: works, tight, because the heater needs power and the maker sets when it runs. Below it with no heater: no, and the planner counts no charging. No published minimum: not published. Heater power draw is rarely published, so it is not added to your loads.
