One 200 Ah lithium battery or two 100 Ah?

On paper the energy is the same: two Redodo 12V 100Ah Ultra Mini Bluetooth (Group 22NF) batteries in parallel and one Redodo 12V 200Ah Plus both give 2,560 Wh calculated. The differences are current limits, weight, the shape of the space they fit in, and whether the maker allows parallel banks, all from the published specs below. Data updated .

Two in parallel: energy, BMS current and charge current add up only when the maker's stated parallel count allows it calculated.

What changes with two

  • Two smaller cases may fit spaces a single long case won't; compare each maker's dimensions with your space (battery box fit).
  • A parallel bank needs the connections the battery maker specifies; follow its manual and have a qualified installer do the wiring (safety).
  • The bank's current limits set what inverter and chargers it can take: see inverter vs BMS.
