PowerMax PM3 Lithium Plus Series, 55 A model: 12 V specs and what it works with

The PowerMax PM3 Lithium Plus Series, 55 A model has a selectable lithium mode and is rated 55 A maker spec. It passes both our lithium-mode and current checks with 7 of 12 batteries we list (one battery each) calculated. Data updated .

Which lithium batteries it can charge

“Works, tight” means the converter has a lithium mode but one of the makers publishes no voltage to compare, so check both manuals. “No” on the lithium-mode check means the maker lists no LiFePO4 mode; a converter without one is not a lithium charger. How the checks work: converter lithium profile.

Notes on the sources

PowerMax's current PM3 Lithium Plus page and PM3-LKL manual. The manual says the 2-stage LiFePO4 mode is chosen with the rear selector switch (3-stage is the factory setting). PowerMax's older Nov-2023 PM3 spec sheet lists a PM3-55LK at 55 amps continuous with 14.6/13.6/13.2 V output; we treat the current Lithium Plus 55 A model as this row and don't claim the two are identical.
